Calling young nature lovers for weekly adventures all throughout New York City. Guided by questions like what is this place we live in, what lifeforms are making a living here together now and what has happened here before, we will use sensory, science and arts-based ways of discovery.

Each quarter the group will focus attention on a different theme to explore the waters, animals, plants and fungi of NYC.

Meet up at Hester St playground (https://goo.gl/maps/6wNS6o5Te4o7xQth6), travel to different sites throughout the city, traveling on foot and by public transportation.

Flying Squads are an outdoor group that travels around NYC exploring the city together, without a predetermined destination. In our fifth year, there are now nine Flying Squads spanning from New York to Quebec to Portland. For more information on Flying Squads, visit: https://www.flyingsquads.org/

In 2021 we launched our first Van field trip day as an alternative for folks who were not ready to go back on the trains due to the Pandemic. It ended up being one of the most popular BAA offerings of all time. This year we are offering van field trips on Thursdays with Amy Carrigan

Last year we traveled all over the tri-state area, visiting mountains, mines, caves, waterfalls, and farther flung historical sites and museums.  Join us for another year of adventures!

2023 - 2024 Amy Van Trip Registration Fridays

Hours are 9-4, and trips leave from Litchfield Manor (PPW and 2nd Street in Brooklyn) 

Field Trip Crew travels the 5 boroughs (and sometimes Jersey City) visiting Cultural institutions, Art Studios, Factories, sewage treatment plants, beaches and parks.

We learn how to navigate public transportation in the city via Bus, Tram, Train, and Ferry.

Over the last 11 years field trip crew has been on hundreds of field trips, come join us for our 23-24 season!
