Weekly Saturday Board Games Meetup

Brooklyn Apple and Zev Anderman will be hosting a regular Saturday late afternoon board game meetup!

When: Saturdays, 2-5 PM (starting September 9th)

Where: Brooklyn Apple Academy, 545 5th Ave. Brooklyn, 2nd Floor (between 14th and 15th streets)

Who: Everyone is welcome! All ages and skill levels are encouraged.

What: We'll be playing a variety of board games, card games, and RPGs. Feel free to bring your own games or borrow some from us.

Some popular games we play are: Forbidden Desert, Machi Koro, Boggle, Ingenious, Euchre, and Mao

Price: Free! Donations to help cover rent and other costs are very appreciated, but optional.

What:  Meet up and Play with Fellow homeschoolers at the “The Yard” on Governors Island

When: Picnic 10:30-1 at Liggett Terrace on Governors Island Then from 1-3 there are 7 slots for kids that want to play at “The Yard” (a kids only “Adventure playground” If you want to snag a slot e-mail Onalee at ArtsyNani@gmail.com (they are $17.50 each)

Where: Picnic First at Liggett Terrace and then moving to “The Yard/Play-ground”

Come check out our facilities, use the art room, wood shop, kitchen, library, and board game collection and spend a day making stuff and playing with your fellow homeschoolers. Fun times guaranteed!

Not Back to School: Workshops

12pm-1:30pm: Rethinking Subject Areas- How to Unschool Within the NYS Regulations

2-3:30pm: Creating Homeschool Paperwork for the Self-Directed Learner

12-3:30 P.M.   Childcare provided at BAA HQ (Art Projects, baking, game etc.) 

Two workshops on Saturday September 10th. $25 per workshop or $40 for both.

Short bio: Jenni is a homeschool consultant and unschool advocate who has been working with NY homeschooling families for over a decade. She has worked closely with The Manhattan Free School (now ALC NYC), Brooklyn Apple, and ALC Mosaic in various capacities. He speciality is supporting families of self directed learners find their footing as they navigate the NYS homeschool regulations.
